When positioning your home on your land there are a couple things that you should keep in mind.

1. You want to approach the home from the front of the house. This is mainly a discussion regarding the driveway. It is important to bring your guests to the front of the house so that they know where to park and enter. The sooner your driveway directs people to the front of your house, the better.

2. The house should be the main focus. If there are other buildings on the site, position the house so it sits proud, standing out from any others. Also, if there is a hill or higher elevation to position your home on, that is good for a variety reasons: It helps keep the house as the main focus, but it also provides the best views and helps keep water away from the home.
